There's no better place in Queensland to indulge in retail therapy than Brisbane. Along with Queens Street Mall in the heart of the city, you'll find shopping centres and factory outlets, upcoming designers and weekend outdoor markets.
A good way to get your bearings when you first arrive is to explore the city by foot, aboard a river cruise on a City Cat or on the free downtown city bus loop.
Alfresco dining is a must do experience on Brisbane and you 'll find a great selection of cafes, bars and restaurants with a prime position right on the river.
Explore the kilometers of riverside walkways or enjoy any number of adventures including abseiling the cliffs at Kangaroo Point, climbing the Bridge or all kinds of water sports. For something cultural there is no shortage of galleries, museums and live theatre venues.
Our tip
This city has a really relaxed feel to it with the Southbank a lovely area to stay and wander about. But unless you have friends or relatives in Brisbane you do not need to stay long. There is so much more to do and see in Queensland. |
